Episode 89, The Presidents Budget and Federal Wildland Firefighters. BobbieOnFire.com, March 22, 2023
I've been a wildland and municipal firefighter for over 40 years. I've held positions from firefighter up through the ranks to Chief and above. Over the years I've gathered many surprising and funny stories. Most have a good leadership lesson for all of us. I hope you enjoy them.

It is good to see some movement in the right direction finally. I am concerned about combining Type I and II IMTs due to the loss of qualified people. Now there is talk that Type III teams will be sent out west to manage fires formally rated as Type II complexity. This all needs to be fixed ASAP!
There also is a need to provide subsidized Professional Liability Insurance for ADs working on teams, or we will lose more experience and qualifications from IMTs.
