#94 – Latest Interview on OPB

Bobbie Scopa
Last modified on March 5, 2024

I try to keep my podcast stories and postings about fire, leadership and almost always some humor. This post is my recorded interview that aired on the Oregon NPR station on March 4, 2024. It’s obviously fire related because it’s about my work. But it’s also about my personal life. And my personal life is what makes my book so succcessful and unusual. It’s the combination of fire stories, leadership lessons, inappropriate humor and maybe a little sadness. But I’m still laughing and enjoying life, so the joy overwhelms the sadness.

Listen in to the interview. If you haven’t read the book yet, please consider getting it and please share with your friends and family. And as always, thanks for listening to the regular podcasts. We’re over 1.5 million stories downloaded now.

I've been a wildland and municipal firefighter for over 40 years. I've held positions from firefighter up through the ranks to Chief and above. Over the years I've gathered many surprising and funny stories. Most have a good leadership lesson for all of us. I hope you enjoy them.
